The TEI of West Macedonia is the largest educational institution in the region of West Macedonia.

History 

1976: Established as Higher Technological Education Centre of Kozani (KATE, in Greek)

Departments:

• Electrical Engineering

• Mechanical Engineering

• Automotive Engineering

• Business Administration

1977: Transition to Higher Technological and Vocational Education Centre (KATEE, in Greek)

1983: Established as Technological Education Institute (TEI) of Kozani, integrating formerKATEE of Kozani and Florina

Schools:

• Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering)

• Business & Finance (Accounting)

• Agriculture Technology (Livestock Production, Crop Production)

1996: Department of Industrial Design (School of Engineering) – Department of International Trade (Kastoria)

1999 : Renamed to TEI of West Macedonia

New Departments:

• Public Relations & Communication (Kastoria)

• Trade and Quality Control of Agricultural Products (Florina)

• Geotechnics and Environment (formerly named Mining Engineering)

2000: Department of Pollution Control Technologies – Department of Financial Applications

2003: First Postgraduate programme in Applied Informatics (partnership with the University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki) – Establishment of the branch in Grevena (Dept. Applied Informatics in Administration and Economy)

2004: Department of Computing (Kastoria)

2005: Postgraduate programme in Mechatronics (M.Sc.)- (partnership with the Polytechnic University of Cataluña)

2008: Postgraduate programme in Business Administration (MBA), Kastoria (partnership with the National Economic University, Ternopil, Ukraine)

New Departments:

• Midwifery (Ptolemaida)

• Business Informatics (Grevena)

• Management Supply Systems (Grevena)

 

2012: Postgraduate programme in Public Relations and Marketing with New Technologies (MA).

2013: 4 Schools, 11 Departments in five cities in West Macedonia.

2015: Research Laboratories are institutionalized
